Complex cases Treatment with trisodium phosphonoformate (foscarnet) seems to have been effective for three patients presenting a fulminant hepatitis due to the B and Delta virus. Interferon has often a precocious and partial positive influence on chronic hepatitis Delta. An interruption of the treatment usually means a relapse of the disease symptoms. This treatment has no influence on the viral disease nor on the histology of the Delta Ag.
